About Us

There have been Baptists worshipping in Whetstone since as early as the 1600's but the first evidence we have of a Baptist Church in Whetstone dates from 1843 when the Old Chapel in King Street was opened.  The present church building was opened in 1909 and in 1927 the church built the present manse, pictured below, which is now used as staff offices and meeting rooms. The church hall complex was built in 1967 and is used for a whole host of activities.

Today sees a thriving church with a membership of well over two hundred.   Our congregation is drawn from Whetstone as well as other surrounding villages. We hold three services on a Sunday and have midweek activities for all age groups.

The church has a large number of young families and this means that our Sunday Club and youth groups are busy and exciting places to be. In church we use mainly contemporary music and have an informal yet reverent worship style.

If you would like to know more please contact us through the church office, or better still, why not arrange to come and pay us a visit. We would be very glad to meet you.
