Children's activities at WBC

Holiday Bible Club, Big Bang Club, Messy Church and King Street Ducklings are very popular with children and families in the area. We run children’s groups in term time and special events throughout the year.

Kid's Church

Age group

0-11 years

Throughout the year, during 10.45am Sunday services

The morning starts in church for family worship time, then the children leave for their groups. Each group has a team of regular leaders. Kids church teaches the Bible in a fun and applicable way, helping the children to engage with God at their own level.

The youngest members of our congregation have a fun, safe time learning about the God who loves them through play. The crèche team is led by members of our church who have experience working with children. We're open throughout the service to allow parents to drop off their children, however if you would prefer to stay, that's fine too.

Everyone is welcome. We have a regular ‘God slot’, where we learn more about God and what it means to be friends with him.

Messy Church

Age group

Families and people of all ages.

First Friday of every month from 3.30pm – 5.45pm and at 10.30am on special occasions such as Good Friday and at Christmas.

Messy Church is a church-based, Christ-centred, worldwide initiative that aims to make church available, accessible and fun for families. Through creativity, hospitality (food!), and celebration, Messy Church provides a way for families and people of all ages to encounter Jesus.

We start with a story and singing time in church, followed by craft and activity tables, and finish with a yummy dinner.

Messy Church is free to attend, however there is a donation box if you wish to give towards the meal.

Holiday Bible Club (HBC)

Age group

Primary: 4-11 years

First full week of August each year

Weekday mornings 9.45am - 12.00pm

Saturday family fun event

Sunday 10.45am - 12.00pm

HBC is a week of fun, games, singing, shouting, craft, Bible stories and learning about Jesus.

We have a fun event on Saturday for all the family, and finish on Sunday with the final session in church for everyone.

We have been running HBC for over 40 years, with generations of families coming along in that time. It's an exciting week in the summer holidays for your children, which is absolutely free.

We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has that the next generation would know them… [and] they would put their trust in God (Psalm 78).

We are committed to the nurturing, protection and safeguarding of all children and young people associated with the church. We seek to ensure that all our activities are conducted in a way which promote a safe environment for all.

We provide safeguarding guidance and training for all people involved with running young people's activities.
